Taking photographs is one passion has followed me for the last twenty years as I have studied in film, classic film development, and have taken the wild roller coaster of digital photography, all the way up from the days of two megapixels up to now with my DSLRs.  From rodeo and photography in the horse world, to nature and wildlife, freelancer community member of National Geographic,  my photographic experiences and tastes have varied.
Working in music photojournalism, professionally shooting Ben Folds and Fiona Apple, Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, and many others, I honed the skills for wedding photography. Performances are much like weddings with unpredictable lighting, and once-in-a-lifetime moments. Presently a photographer for Portland's Vortex Music Magazine,  some of my past work can be found in Oregon Music News, The Examiner, and Q Magazine.
I have owned and operated XO Chels. Photography for a decade now, shot over 400 weddings, been featured several times in Huffington Post, Bridal Magazine, The Knot, Wedding Wire, Thumbtack Spotlights, Offbeat Bride, and several wedding blogs.
Outside of photography, I am a graduate in Physics and work a day job in an office like most of the world. In my spare time, I garden, I’m a hobby botanist, and I love finding new things to make.  I'm also mother to  Bernese Mountain Dog named Mabel, whose hair is very likely to show up somewhere in your wedding package. :)
